ARMORARMY
Body armor guides, tactical gear reviews, and the tools behind smart protection.
From reading an armor label's level name and weighing a plate carrier to sizing a plate, planning a MOLLE field and totalling a loadout, ArmorArmy.com pairs free hands-on armor and tactical calculators with practical guides and a richly illustrated museum. Gear up smarter, stay protected.
Armor & Tactical Tools
Free tools for every setup — body armor level guide, plate carrier weight calculator, armor plate size finder, MOLLE capacity planner, and gear loadout weight calculator.
Body Armor Level Guide
Read the level name on an armor label: which NIJ standard defines it, NIJ's own rename between Standard 0101.06 and Standard 0123.00, and where the test threats are listed
Plate Carrier Weight Calculator
Total the worn weight of a loaded carrier or vest from your own plate, carrier and pouch weights (or example figures), in pounds and kilograms
Armor Plate Size Finder
Convert your torso and width measurements to inches and centimeters for a plate maker's own sizing chart; fit is the maker's chart, so this page does not pick a size
MOLLE Capacity Planner
Estimate how much a MOLLE webbing field can carry — enter the rows and columns of webbing to see the attachment points and roughly how many small pouches will fit before you plan a layout
Gear Loadout Weight Calculator
Add up your kit item by item and, with your body weight, see the load as a share of body weight beside a common 20% rule of thumb for comfort (not a medical limit)
Armor & Protection Museum
Wander an immersive museum of protective gear through the ages — the plate and mail of medieval knights and the lamellar of the samurai alongside modern ballistic vests and rifle plates, the helmets, MOLLE rigs, and combat kit of today's operators, and the armored vehicles and shields that hold a line, each in its own gallery, so you can get to know the story behind every piece: how it came to be, what it protects against, and the role it plays in keeping people safe.
